Love to Garden? Join the Fun at Calloway’s FREE Perennial Plant Swap This Saturday, April 3.

                                       

Want to add some new plants to your garden for almost FREE?
This Saturday, April 3, Calloway’s Nursery is hosting a perennial plant swap in Fort Worth and Plano.  This is a great way to expand your garden with shared plants, seedlings, and bulbs, as well as trade tips with other local gardeners. I love sharing my survivors plants with others and am really looking forward to this event!  

The spring Perennial Swap is the third event of this typed hosted by Calloway’s locations and is free to the public. Additionally, there will be free bottled water and hourly drawings between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. for garden gift cards. A Master Gardener or plant expert will be on site at each location to answer gardening questions and offer gardening advice, too!

Step 1: Post what you have and what you want at the links below.  If you have extra bulbs, roots or divided perennials list them to share. If you’re looking for something specific, post it at these links:

Hey Fort Worth Jazz Fans ~ A FREE Monthly Jazz Series Starts Thursday (3/18)!

  

:: All Jazzed Up and Someplace to Go
If you are a jazz fan, then you will want to check out Fort Worth’s new Third Thursday Jazz Series, sponsored by the Central Library and the City of Fort Worth.  

This six-concert series features an outstanding list of nationally and locally known talent and is FREE and open to the public. The monthly lineup includes vocalist Jay Clayton, who has performed at New York’s Lincoln Center; guitarist Dan Faehnle, who has toured with Diana Krall; and saxophonist Mack Goldsbury, who has twice been nominated for a Grammy Award.  

:: Paul Unger Sextet kicks off the Thursday Series.
The series kicks off  March 18 with the Paul Unger Sextet and will feature a complete performance of Miles Davis’ legendary album, Kind of Blue, the biggest selling jazz recording of all time.  The Miles Davis tribute band is led by bassist Paul Unger who has performed with such artists as Kevin Eubanks, Bobby Shew, Bob Newhart, Bernadette Peters, Jay Clayton and Andrea Bocelli. He also composed the soundtrack for the recently released film, Seventy-8.

Oh I love a parade!  Over 100,000 people will line the streets of downtown Fort Worth to watch the “All Western Parade” and to celebrate the opening of the 2010 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.       

This traditional event is held each year and boasts being the largest
western themed parade
, as well as the longest 100% non-motorized (no
cars) parade in the world.

When:
Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11AM
Where: The parade starts in front of the Tarrant County Courthouse
    (Downtown at Weatherford and Main Streets), turns right on Main towards
    the Convention Center, and loops back to the Courthouse on Houston St.

How:  Park at one of the many FREE downtown lots (Sundance Square, the
    parking garage next to Bass Hall, etc.) and walk to your viewing spot. Or,
    take the TRE train to the Fort Worth ITC station, and walk up 9th Street to
