

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art is offering a fun and FREE event packed with activities for all ages. Everyone is welcome to experience the Amon Carter at night with art making, tours, music, films, interactive demonstrations, and more inspired by the special exhibition Art and Appetite: American Painting, Culture, and Cuisine. No reservations are required.

Art Making for All Ages (5:30–9:30 p.m.)
Decorate a reusable lunch bag
Create magnetic miniature artworks
Art Search (5:30–9:30 p.m.)
Work up an appetite by finding food-themed artworks in the galleries. Pick up a question sheet (both adult and family versions are available), complete the search, and claim your prize!
Cupcake Decorating with Central Market (5:30–9:30 p.m.)
Decorate a miniature cupcake to look like a berry pie and enjoy your creation on the museum’s front porch.
Food Trucks and Outdoor Fun (5:30–9:30 p.m.)
Have fun on the museum’s lawn by tossing a beach ball, throwing a flickering Frisbee with friends, or grabbing a bite to eat from a food truck (Food available for purchase).
Music with Eric Martin (5:30–9:30 p.m.)
Enjoy the melodic sounds of the xylophone during an ongoing performance by local percussionist Eric Martin.
Selections from Food Design, a film by Martin Hablesreiter and Sonja Stummerer (5:30–9:30 p.m.)
Food Design (2010) takes a look at the secret chambers of a major manufacturer of food, where designers and scientists are defining tomorrow’s favorite culinary treat. It shows how form, color, smell, consistency, the sounds made during eating, manufacturing technique, history, and stories are all aspects of food and eating that both influence food design and are created by it. This film includes subtitles.
Tarrant Area Food Bank Donation Station (5:30–9 p.m.)
Help those in need by donating a non-perishable food item to the Tarrant Area Food Bank. For each item donated, a ticket will be entered in a raffle to win an Amon Carter swag bag!

Family Tour (5:45–6:30 p.m.)
Join the Amon Carter’s professional gallery teachers to discover works of art, share your observations, and get creative in the galleries. This tour is best for children ages 12 and under with their adult companions.
Dining Through the Ages with Anne Paup, Etiquette Consultant (Sessions begin at 6, 7, and 8 p.m).
Mind your manners and learn the basics of dining etiquette and the history behind it during this fun demonstration with Etiquette and Protocol Consultant Anne Paup.
Cheese Tastings with Elizabeth Northern, Owner of Magnolia Cheese Company (Tastings begin at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 p.m.)
Taste and learn about unique local cheeses during this delectable presentation with cheesemonger Elizabeth Northern, proprietor of Magnolia Cheese Company in Fort Worth’s Near Southside neighborhood. Please note: There are a limited number of seats per session. Free tickets to sessions will be available in Gallery 21 thirty minutes before each session begins.

Join Margi Conrads, deputy director of art and research, as she shares her favorite works of art in the special exhibition Art and Appetite: American Painting, Culture, and Cuisine.
