New Parents ~ want to learn something new about fine art?
The Amon Carter Museum of American Art’s New Parents Tour has started up again for 2014 and will be offered the last Friday of each month, January–September at 10:30 a.m. It’s so much fun for parents and grandparents to enjoy an art tour designed just for them while they push their babies and toddlers through the museum in their strollers.

The first opportunity to take part is this Friday, January 31st!

Details, details
What: Explore a new aspect of the Amon Carter each month during an adult tour for parents, grandparents, and other caregivers with little ones in tow. The tour begins at the Information Desk. No reservations are required. This program is best for adults accompanied by children two years old or younger.
When: Friday, January 31, 2013 – 10:30am – 11:30am.

Where: The Amon Carter Museum is located at 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd. Directions and parking details can be found here. The tour begins at the information desk.
Parking: FREE parking is available in the museum’s East lot (off Camp Bowie Blvd). Parents are encouraged to park here and follow the sidewalk along the north side of the museum, where an accessible lift is available for your stroller. A museum representative will be there to help.
Cost: FREE! Entrance to the Amon Carter’s permanent collection is always free (but donations are appreciated).

That savings is on top of the current discounted price you’ll see from Amazon, bringing some of the filters to 45% OFF the retail price you would normally pay.

For my purchase, that meant I received from Amazon, 2 Water Filters for more than 35% off the price of the same filters we used to purchase from Sears. Depending on your filter model, you might save up to 45% off the retail price.

They have sizes to fit just about anyone ~ from petite to women’s sizes and everything in between. Oh I love a parade! Over 100,000 people will line the streets of downtown Fort Worth to watch the “All Western Parade” and to celebrate the opening of the 2014 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. This traditional event is held each year and boasts being the largest western themed parade, as well as the longest 100% non-motorized (no cars) parade in the world. The parade will feature over 4,000 participants including covered wagons, horses, more than 1,000 head of livestock, and of course lots of cowboys!

Where: The parade starts in front of the Tarrant County Courthouse (Downtown at Weatherford and Main Streets), turns right on Main towards the Convention Center, and loops back to the Courthouse on Houston St. Click here to view the new 2014 parade route.

Try out the Fort Worth Bike Sharing program for a buck! Each Wednesday in January, Fort Worth B-Cycle 24-hour memberships will only cost $1 (regularly $8).

To participate, go to any of the bike stations to purchase the membership and check out your bike for $1. When you are done, drop it off at any of the stations. Do note that usage fees will still apply after 30 minutes.

There are over 30 bike station locations in Fort Worth (14 stations in Downtown Fort Worth, 7 in the Cultural District, 9 around the Magnolia/S. Main area, and 3 in the TCU area) ~ find available stations on these maps.

Target Stores Provide FREE Credit Monitoring and Identity Theft Protection

Please pass this free credit protection info along to your friends and family. This data breach has affected millions of people and probably most people you know…

As you have likely heard by now, there was a breach in personal data and credit/debit card information that occurred at Target stores from Thanksgiving to mid-December, potentially impacting 40 million customers.

In response to the breach, Target has offered to provide 1-year of FREE credit monitoring plus a FREE credit report, daily credit monitoring, identity theft insurance where available, and access to personalized assistance.

Target suggests that guests who sign up for free credit monitoring should continue to monitor their accounts and report any unusual or suspicious activity to their bank.

:: Go to the Target.com website to request an activation code for the FREE Credit Monitoring service and to find out more about the Target data breach.

Guests have until April 23, 2014 to sign up for their FREE year of credit monitoring. Even if you don’t think your information was compromised, you may want to sign up to be on the safe side.
