  • City of Fort Worth’s Fourth Of July Fireworks (July 4)
    Features an evening of live music, family activities, jet ski

    fireworks show! You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in
    “The Great Texas Hill Slide,” an attempt to set the world’s record for
    the most people sliding down a hill at one time (crazy fun!)!
  • Granbury Old-Fashioned 4th of July (July 2-4)
    The whole city gets involved with an all weekend celebration
    including, live Big Band music and a dance, vintage car show,
    fireworks over the lake and lots more. Voted one of the top 5 Best
    Fireworks shows in Texas.
  • Irving’s Firecracker Fourth  (July 4)
    Fireworks over Lake Caroline and patriotic music from the Irving
    Symphony Orchestra, combine with the gorgeous setting of
    Williams Square (the building with the amazing horse statue in the
    plaza) to create a beautiful Fourth of July family event.

This week’s lesson at Williams-Sonoma will demonstrate new techniques,
ingredients, and recipes including how to make some old favorite comfort
foods in a fresh new way.  You’ll get an opportunity to try delicious
samples, too (My mouth is already watering!)!

Take in some traditional Western fun at the legendary
2010 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
Now through February 7, 2010
          

          

Kick up your heels and enjoy acres of excitement and western
heritage at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. Events include
pulse-pounding rodeo action (extra ticket required), free musical
entertainment, petting zoo, family friendly exhibits, premier livestock
shows, and more.
          

There are lots of special activities to enjoy and the schedule
of events
is fresh each day.  Some of my favorites include:
        

Friday, January 22
Senior Citizen Day:  Senior citizens will be admitted to the Stock 
   Show grounds every Friday throughout the show (Jan 22, 29 and Feb 5) 
   for a discounted admission price of $4.
        

Mustang Magic Horse Trainers Challenge followed by Mustang 
   Adoption Auction – Justin Arena, 6:00pm       

Saturday and Sunday, January 23-24
Fort Worth Rodeo School:
 Watch the two-day rodeo PRCA
   Championship Rodeo camp for prospective bareback and saddle
   bronco riders –
Auditorium 8:00am       

Sunday, January 24
Cowboy Church: Everyone is welcome and dress is “come as you are.”  
   Service by Shepherd’s Valley Church – West Arena, 10:00am       

Next Friday, January 29
Boy Scout Day: In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the
   Boy Scouts of America, all scouts in uniform receive complimentary
   Stock Show Grounds Admission.

A Special Park & Ride shuttle will be available Saturdays and Sundays
   during the Stock Show. It will take you directly to the front gate, pick you
   up, and return you to your vehicle parking lot for only $1.00 each way.

of easy casting for rainbow trout at Bear Creek Park in Keller.  Texas Parks and 
Wildlife and Keller Parks and Recreation join together to sponsor a fun time
of family fishing and other events including contests and prizes.
