:: Saturday, June 29, 2013 ~ DFW Fireworks Events

Southfork Ranch
What: Celebrate Freedom
Ranked as the largest free outdoor concert & fireworks show in America, this event will feature 23 music artists including SwitchFoot, Mandisa, Toby Mac, and more.
Where: Southfork Ranch in Dallas
When: June 29, Music starts at 10:00am~ Fireworks start at dusk (about 9:30PM)

:: Wednesday, July 3, 2013 ~ DFW Fireworks Events

Addison
What: Kaboom Town in Addison
Rated one of the top places to watch fireworks in the country by the American Pyrotechnics Association, USA Today, Travel + Leisure and The Wall Street Journal, the nationally-recognized fireworks show can be seen from anywhere in Addison.  The 30-minute fireworks show is choreographed to music and a live radio simulcast on 100.3 JACK FM. Plus there is food, live music and the spectacular Addison Airport Air Show.
Where: Watching party at Addison Circle Park
When: July 3, 5:00PM to Midnight ~ Fireworks start at dusk (about 9:30PM)

Arlington
What: Light Up Arlington Fireworks Show
Live music, Radio Disney kids area, bounce houses, petting zoo, face painting and games set up along several city blocks in Arlington. Features a 21-minute music-enhanced fireworks show from atop City Hall.
Where: Downtown/City Hall/University District of Arlington. Go here for map.
When: July 3, 6:0oPM – 10:30PM (Fireworks at 9:45)
Cost: FREE!

Irving/Las Colinas
What: Irving’s Firecracker Fourth
Free concerts including shows by the Kenny Chavez Combo, the Irving Symphony Orchestra and MAXX Band, bounce houses, food concession stands and fireworks.
Where: Irving Convention Center ~ 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd.
When: July 4, Entertainment begins at 6:00PM, fireworks at 9:40PM
Cost: FREE! Parking is $5 at the Irving Convention Center parking garage ~ 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd.

Roanoke
What: Independence Day Celebration ~ Roanoke 3rd Rocks
Fireworks, Live Music and Family Fun Le Freak (retro disco band) will return by popular demand. Enjoy fun activities, bounce houses, games and more. GREAT fireworks show! $3 BBQ meals include sandwich, chip and a drink.
Where: Roanoke Community Park ~ 201 Park Dr.
When: July 3, Family Activities begin at 6:00. Fireworks will start at dusk.

Southlake
What: Stars & Stripes Southlake Fireworks Show
Kids zone activities, balloon artists,  live music & entertainment, patriotic music, and more!
Where: Southlake Town Square
When: July 3, Family Activities begin at 6:00PM. Patriotic ceremony and fireworks will start at 9:30PM.

Arlington
What: 48th Annual Arlington Independence Day Parade
Where:

When: July 4, Begins at 9:00AM
Cost: FREE!

What: Arlington Highlands 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza
Live music, fun, and fireworks.

When: July 4, 7:00PM, Fireworks at 9:15PM

Bedford
What: City of Bedford’s Independence Day Celebration
This 4th FEST will feature free live musical entertainment, a variety of themed family friendly activities, free cake, a birthday themed classic car show, festival food and spectacular fireworks when the sun goes down.
Where: 2801 Forest Ridge Road ~ Bedford Boys Ranch Park.  Go here for parking details.
When: July 4, 12:00PM to 11:00PM, fireworks at 10:00PM
Cost: FREE! Swimming at Bedford’s Splash Aquatic Center is $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for kids under 18. Optional parking and shuttle service, $5 (Free for children 3 and under) will be offered at Pennington Field, 1501 Central Drive.

Burleson
What: City of Burleson’s Independence Day Celebration
Parade, 90-minute live concert by The Spazmatics, fireworks show, and more.
Where: Chisenhall Fields Sports Complex
500 W. Hidden Creek Pkwy
When: July 4 ~ Parade starts at 9:00AM. Gates to Chisenhall  Complex will open at 5:00PM.  Fireworks at 9:20PM.
Cost: FREE!

Dallas
What: Fair Park Fourth Celebration
The City of Dallas’ official Independence Day celebration at Fair Park will feature spectacular fireworks at the Cotton Bowl, kids activities, a variety of live bands, and a patriotic concert by the Dallas Wind Symphony.
Where: Fair Park in Dallas
When: July 4 ~ 4:30 to 11:30PM. Fireworks start at 9:30PM.
Cost: FREE!  You will need a wristband for Cotton Bowl entry (available at information booths while supplies last).

Flower Mound
What: Independence Day Festival & Fireworks Show
This fun family event features live music from Rick Springfield, Kid’s Zone activities, vintage auto show, art show, exhibitors, and a great fireworks show.
Where: Flower Mound’s Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan Lane
When: July 4, 5:00-10:30PM, Rick Springfield plays at 8:15PM and fireworks begin at 9:45PM
Cost: The evening program, fireworks show, and parking at Bakersfield Park are FREE!

Fort Worth
What: City of Fort Worth’s Fourth Of July Fireworks
This fireworks show promises to be one of the largest and best in the metroplex!  
Fireworks will honor the 25th anniversary of the Fort Worth sister city relationship with Nagaoka, Japan and will feature special effects like no other! It will be an evening of free music, family activities, bounce houses, miniature golf, jet ski shows, food trucks,  fireworks, and lots more! You can even cool off in the Trinity River with the river-tubing event — tubes are free but supplies are limited so feel free to bring your own.
Where: On the Trinity River, at Panther Island Pavilion.  Address for parking is 1098 West Peach St.  Go here for a map.
When: July 4, Festival starts at 2:00PM. Fireworks begin at 9:30PM (approx.).

Frisco
What: Frisco Freedom Fest
Food, live music, children’s activities (bounce house, games, face painting, etc.), street entertainment, and more.
Where: Simpson Plaza at City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd.
When: July 4, Begins at 4:00PM, Fireworks at 10:00PM
Cost: FREE!

Granbury
What: Granbury Old-Fashioned 4th of July Fireworks Show
“1776” Musical on the Courthouse steps, live band, kids activities fireworks, and more. Voted one of the top 5 best fireworks shows in Texas.
Where: Events take place around town with fireworks over the lake.

When: July 4, Fireworks and Laser light show begin at dusk (about 9:30PM). Go here for a complete schedule of events.

Grapevine
What: 31st Annual Fireworks Extravaganza
Where:
Grapevine Lake (our favorite viewing spot is from the Gaylord Texan Hotel. A map of viewing sites around Grapevine Lake can be be found here
Worth noting: 
In the interest of public safety, the City of Grapevine will be shutting down Fairway Drive between State Highway 26 E. and Silveron Blvd. on July 4th. beginning at 9 p.m. Additionally, parking along Fairway Drive will be prohibited.
When: July 4, Fireworks start at 9:30PM
Cost: FREE! Note that some parks may charge a small admission fee.

Lewisville
What: Red White & Lewisville Fireworks Show
Uncle Sam invites everyone to join him for a parade. Children can dress in America’s colors and decorate tricycles, strollers or wagons [no bikes allowed] in red, white and blue. The parade starts in Vista Ridge Mall’s Center Court and ends where a DJ will rock the mall with music and host fun games with prizes. Crafts with a patriotic theme along with face painting will also be a part of the festivities.
Where: Vista Ridge Mall ~  The best viewing opportunities for the fireworks will be on the South side of the mall and along the 121 Bypass.
When: July 4, Parade and all activities will begin at 11:00am and end at 3:00pm; fireworks begin at 9:30PM.
Cost: FREE!

North Richland Hills & Haltom City
What: Family 4th Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day at the Family 4th Celebration.  Festivities include carnival rides, performances on the community stage, and festival food. The fireworks show will include 20 minutes of dazzling pyrotechnics. Patriotic music will be simulcast on KTCU 88.7 fm.
Where: The Hills Shopping Center (6351 Highway 26)
or WG Thomas Coliseum (6108 Broadway in Haltom City).
When: July 4, Festivities begin at 5:00pm and fireworks start at 9:30PM
Cost: FREE!

An evening of free music, family activities, bounce houses, miniature golf, jet ski shows, food trucks, and fireworks. You can even cool off in the Trinity River with the Float the Fourth river-tubing event (inner tubes, kayaks and swim up barges are available free of charge).   Free fresh watermelon will also be available to all!

What: A Salute to America Concert & Ice Cream Party
Concerts at Arborlawn presents their 200-voice Festival Chorus in the 23rd Annual A Salute to America concert.  Free ice cream social follows the concert.

Grab the picnic basket and lawn chairs and head to one of the many FREE July 4th holiday celebrations for Fort Worth, Dallas and the surrounding areas.  We’ve compiled ist of 15 of the best FREE fireworks shows and DFW community family events including dates, times, and other details you might like to know, here.

A few of our favorites include:  

  •  Stars & Stripes Southlake Fireworks Show (July 3)
    If fireworks Sunday evening fits into your plans, pop by Southlake’s family event on the Square.  They’ll have live Big Band and other live music, face painting, and even an F-16 Flyover! Don’t miss out on our favorite local ice cream ~ Milwaukee Joe’s Ice Cream while you are there (yum!!!)!
  • City of Fort Worth’s Fourth Of July Fireworks (July 4)
    Features an evening of live music, family activities, jet ski performances on the Trinity River, and of course an amazing
    fireworks show! You’ll also have the opportunity to float down the Trinity River (free tubes and kayaks provided).
  • Granbury Old-Fashioned 4th of July (July 1-4)
    The whole city gets involved with an all weekend celebration
    including, live Big Band music and a dance, vintage car show,
    fireworks over the lake and lots more. Voted one of the top 5 Best
    Fireworks shows in Texas.

:: FREE Concert Series at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington
   Friday to Sunday, July 1-3, 2011

Join your family and friends at this weekends FREE concerts at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington – part of Levitt Pavilion’s 50 nights of free music, dance and performing arts under the stars. The entertainment schedule includes a wide span of music genres including jazz, pop, latin, country and even special events just for kids.

The Friday evening concert (July 1) features one of our favorite local bands The Killdares – a fantastic blend of rock, pop, and celtic sound.  Saturday’s concert (July 2) brings to the stage bluesy-soulsy favorite Mingo Fishtrap (previously performed with performed with such artists as Sting and Blues Traveler). Lyrical country musician, Radney Foster (July 3) rounds out the concert weekend of music.  Sunday’s concert will also feature the Light Up Arlington fireworks at 9:45 p.m. (concert will continue after the fireworks).

Enjoy a fun evening with your family and friends with First Friday on  the Green, a FREE monthly live music series rolled out by Fort Worth  South. Bring your blankets and chairs (and even Fido if you want), and enjoy an evening of live music from great bands in a relaxing setting.

  • Fort Worth Herd Cattle Drive 11:30AM and 4:00PM
  • Petting Zoo 11:00AM–4:00PM
  • Gunfight Shows 11:45AM and 4:15PM

Children and adults will have the opportunity for hands on, interactive
experiences including roping, sorting, saddling, cattle drive demonstrations

This Saturday, bring your child to Home Depot’s Kids Workshop to help them learn a new woodworking skill and make a FREE Drink Coaster Set to take home.Each Kids Workshop participant will receive a kid-sized orange apron (similar to a Home Depot associate apron) and an achievement pin.  All workshops are free, but you should probably show up early to insure you have a kit for your little ones.

Live music, kid’s activity zone, vintage car show, arts & crafts, food and more.  Featuring classic rock icons, Grand Funk Railroad! This year’s festival will be special as the town is also celebrating its 50th Anniversary and is combining this event with the Wild About Flower Mound festival.
Where: Flower Mound’s Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan Lane

Fort Worth
What: City of Fort Worth’s Fourth Of July Fireworks
An evening of free music, family activities, bounce houses, miniature golf, jet ski shows, and fireworks. You can even cool off in the Trinity River with the Float the Fourth river-tubing event (
inner tubes, kayaks and swim up barges are available free of charge).   Free fresh watermelon will also be available to all!
Where: On the Trinity River, behind LaGrave Field at Trinity Uptown.
When: July 4, Starts at 4:30PM. Fireworks begin after the FW Cats game ends.
Cost: FREE!  Parking is available at LaGrave Field for $5 or free along the side streets of North Main.

What: Irving’s Firecracker Fourth
Fireworks over Lake Caroline and patriotic music from the Irving Symphony Orchestra and the Kenny Chavez Combo
Where: Las Colinas ~ Intersection of Las Colinas Boulevard and Lake Carolyn Parkway
When: July 4, Entertainment begins at 6:30PM, fireworks at 9:30PM

  •  Stars & Stripes Southlake Fireworks Show (July 3)
    If fireworks Saturday evening fits into your plans, pop by
    Southlake’s family event on the Square.  They’ll have live Big
    Band and Cajun music, facepainting, and other family fun
    events, too! Don’t miss out on Milwaukee Joe’s Ice Cream while
    you are there (yum!!!)!
  • City of Fort Worth’s Fourth Of July Fireworks (July 4)
    Features an evening of live music, family activities, jet ski
    performances on the Trinity River, and of course an amazing 
    fireworks show! You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in
    “The Great Texas Hill Slide,” an attempt to set the world’s record for
    the most people sliding down a hill at one time (crazy fun!)!
  • Granbury Old-Fashioned 4th of July (July 2-4)
    The whole city gets involved with an all weekend celebration
    including, live Big Band music and a dance, vintage car show,
    fireworks over the lake and lots more. Voted one of the top 5 Best
    Fireworks shows in Texas.
  • Irving’s Firecracker Fourth  (July 4)
    Fireworks over Lake Caroline and patriotic music from the Irving
    Symphony Orchestra, combine with the gorgeous setting of
    Williams Square (the building with the amazing horse statue in the
    plaza) to create a beautiful Fourth of July family event.

Enjoy a fun evening with your family and friends with First Friday on
the Green, a FREE monthly live music series rolled out by Fort Worth
South
. Bring your blankets and chairs (and even Fido if you want), and
enjoy an evening of live music from great bands in a relaxing setting.          

Hungry? Enjoy one of the neighborhood’s fantastic restaurants beforehand
or take in Chadra Mezza & Grill which will be selling their tasty fare at the

Each Kids Workshop participant will receive a kid-sized orange apron
(similar to a Home Depot associate apron) and an achievement pin.  All
workshops are free, but you should probably show up early to insure you
have a kit for your little ones.
