:: Tornado Disaster Relief Benefit Concert Featuring Melissa
Lawson and Betty Buckley ~ Levitt Pavilion in Arlington

Join your family and friends at Saturday’s Tornado victim relief benefit concert at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington.  The concert is free, but cash donations will be collected to be dispersed through the local Salvation Army for those in need. The entertainment schedule includes Betty Buckley, Tony Award-winning actress and recording artist, followed by Melissa Lawson, Arlington country music artist who won NBC’s Nashville Star.

Be sure to bring along a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor entertainment! Snacks or a picnic dinner, and beverages are allowed, but no glass containers, please.

Enjoy a family friendly tour of BRIT (Botanical Research Institute of Texas) and learn something new about plants! Saturday you can choose from a 1-hour docent-led tour (2 choices: 10:30AM or 12:30PM) or a 30-minute guided plant walk with BRIT’s very own Sam Kieschnick (11:45am)!

Other Saturday activities include:
• Meet a BRIT botanist at the Plant Preservation Studio and learn about BRIT’s unique plant collection.
• Self-guided tours of the LEED Platinum building, BRIT’s pocket prairie, geology wall, braided gardens, and the wetland area.

Join the Fort Worth Central Library for a free showing of the classic children’s movie The Secret Garden on Saturday, April 14. This movie showing is part of the Central Library’s Second Saturday Film Series which runs monthly family friendly movies through the end of the year.

About the movie: An orphan girl living in her uncle’s British dreary mansion discovers a long-neglected garden. With the help of her cousin, she sets about to restore the garden and, in the process, change their lives. A wonderful film adapted from the timeless book. Rated G. 101 minutes.
