The exhibition is part of a 6-month citywide celebration, known as ”The Lonesome Dove Trail,” which will include multiple Fort Worth venues including screenings, seminars and a reunion gala of the cast and crew including Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones and more.

This photo exhibit tells the story of two people caught between two different worlds — Cynthia Ann and Quanah Parker, two important names in U.S. frontier history. In 1836, a Comanche raiding party took Cynthia Ann from their family, and over the following years, she became wife to the Comanche chief and mother to Quanah. After Cynthia Ann was taken back by Texas Rangers, Quanah became one of the most important Comanche leaders both in war and peace.

These watercolor paintings have been reacquired by his son from various sources to compile a collection never before seen together.

Oh I love a parade! Over 100,000 people will line the streets of downtown Fort Worth to watch the “All Western Parade” and to celebrate the opening of the 2016 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. This traditional event is held each year and boasts being the largest western themed parade, as well as the longest 100% non-motorized (no cars) parade in the world. The parade will feature over 4,000 participants including covered wagons, horses, more than 1,000 head of livestock, and of course lots of cowboys!

The jolly old elf will be waiting to hear Christmas wishes at his home near the towering 59-foot Sundance Square Christmas tree, beautifully adorned with thousands of lights. Fort Worth Sister Cities International invites you to take your photo with Santa and is offering guests a photo with Santa for a $10 donation (cash only please) which will go towards youth programs. You are also welcome to bring your personal camera to take photos if you prefer.

The Settlement to City Museums are a collection of four new museums including the Keeling House Museum, the Donald Schoolhouse, the Cotton Ginners Museum and the Grapevine Historical Museum located within the Grapevine Ice House, all of which tell the story of Grapevine.

What:Come join the holiday spirit at Keller Town Center! Enjoy The Very Merry Light Parade, the lighting of the Christmas tree, Santa’s arrival, stage entertainment, a two-lane snow hill, arts and crafts, bounce houses, concessions and activities at the Jingle Bell Zone. Learn more here.

City of Roanoke Christmas Tree Lighting Event
What: Be a part of Roanoke’s annual Christmas parade, tree lighting, and holiday celebration including a fun night of Bounce houses, carriage rides, children’s crafts, children’s train, live musical performances, photos with Santa (remember to bring your camera!), refreshments and holiday fun at the Recreation Center, strolling carolers, and more. Visitors can enjoy hot cider and cookies and a tour of the farm as well.

Pay tribute to the men and women who have served in the service of our country at the 2015 Veterans Day parade in Fort Worth. Parade entries will stage north of the Tarrant County Courthouse on Wednesday, November 11 (North Main Street) and step off at 10:30 a.m. The parade will proceed south on Main Street to Sundance Square for an 11 a.m. opening ceremony. Join Williams-Sonoma’s weekly Junior Chef Class where they will show kids how fun and easy cooking can be. They’ll learn to make delicious recipes, from main courses to desserts and snacks, with plenty of tasting along the way. At this week’s class, they’re celebrating Chuck Williams’s 100th birthday and cooking some of his favorite recipes — a butter lettuce salad with vinaigrette, a juicy roast chicken, plus chocolate mousse for dessert. Suitable for ages 8–13.Note: You’ll want to call to reserve your spot since class size is limited.

FREE Drawing From the Collection classes for kids: Two sessions of this free program are offered, one for ages 5 to 8 and one for ages 9 to 12. Each session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s galleries. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. A sign-up sheet is located at the information desk. 2-3:30 pm
