• Colleyville, KLTY 6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Helicopter Egg Drop.   This kids only Eggstravaganza features live music, petting zoo, pony rides, face painters, bounce houses,  obstacle course, 10,000+ Easter Egg Hunt, and lots of KID-FUN Entertainment!  Saturday, March 28, 9:00AM – Noon at Compass Christian Church, 2600 Hall Johnson Rd.,  Colleyville. 214-387-0475.  Learn more here.

• Keller, Special Bunnies Easter Egg Hunt at Northwood Church:  This special Easter Egg Hunt is for children with special needs and their families ~ all are welcome to attend at no cost and enjoy a safe and supportive environment to enjoy the fun of an Easter egg hunt, bounce houses, face painting, and more.  The event is hosted by Northwood Church and Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT), but any child with special needs is welcome to take part in this great event with their family. Saturday, March 28, 1:30-3:30pm at Northwood Church,  1870 Rufe Snow Drive, Keller.  Learn more here.

• Grapevine, 40th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Nash Farms: Grab your baskets and prepare for egg-hunting fun! On Saturday, March 28, hop on over to Nash Farm for the 40th Annual Easter Egg Hunt presented by the Grapevine Parks and Recreation department. This free event will feature egg-hunting, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, tractor-drawn wagon rides and more. Hunt times are divided by age groups:  Saturday, March 28, 9:30am – 12:30pm at Nash Farm in Grapevine, 626 Ball Street (near Historic Downtown Grapevine).  Get more details here.

With the severe weather season right around the corner, the National Weather Service is preparing North Texans by hosting a free SkyWarn storm workshop.  This workshop will discuss spotting and reporting storms, identifying cloud features, learning safety rules, and planning for a severe weather day.  You can even become a certified SkyWarn spotter if you’d like!

The class will be divided into two parts — a basic overview of storm spotting will be presented in the morning session, and in the afternoon session, the class will consist of more advanced topics like radar interpretation and severe storms.

The Modern Art Museum ~ Fort Worth Kids Drawing Program

FREE Drawing From the Collection classes for kids:  Two sessions of this free program for children are offered, one for ages 5 to 8 and one for ages 9 to 12. Each session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises that relate to works in the Modern’s galleries. Children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited; early arrival is encouraged. A sign-up sheet can be found at the information desk.

FREE Drawing From the Collection class for adults:  Learn from local artists as they lead informal basic drawing classes in the galleries. This free class is open to adults at all skill levels—just bring a sketchbook and pencils. Registration is not required, but participants should sign in at the information desk.

President’s Day Weekend (February 14-16), enjoy 1000s of  U.S. National Parks, Historical Sites, and other national scenic and recreational areas for FREE! This special fee-free weekend, is sponsored by the U.S. National Parks service and is only offered a few times a year (see other dates below).

Do note that not all National Parks managed areas charge admission fees, but those that do will waive their costs these days (such as $20 a car at Big Bend or $25 a car at the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone National Park).

The Kimbell Kids drop-in program introduces children (ages 12 and under) and their adult companions to fun and inspiring ways to enjoy art together. Each session features a brief gallery activity and a related studio-art project. Sign up at the entrance to the education studios in the Renzo Piano Pavilion one hour before the program.
