:: FREE Concert Series at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington
Featuring Michael Martin Murphey and Ray Wylie Hubbard
Friday to Sunday ~ May 25 to 27, 2012

Join your family and friends to celebrate the kick off a long list of FREE concerts at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington.  Friday night, they will be launching their summer calendar of free music, dance and performing arts – all under the stars! The performance schedule includes a wide span of music genres including jazz, pop, latin, country and even special events just for kids.  This weekends concert launch includes:

 Friday, May 25 – Michael Martin Murphey The cowboy crooner best known for “Wildfire”
 Saturday, May 26 – Ray Wylie Hubbard Legendary Texas troubadour and master storyteller
Sunday, May 27 – Asleep at the Wheel The Grammy-winning kings of Texas swing!

Be sure to bring along a lawn chair or blanket to comfortably enjoy the outdoor entertainment. Snacks or a picnic dinner, and beverages are allowed, but no glass containers please.

:: FREE Grapevine Lake Fireworks Show & Summer Blast
Family Event at the Gaylord Texan

 Friday, May 25, 2012 (and Every Friday through Labor Day)


Friday nights over Grapevine Lake will sparkle with spectacular fireworks each Friday through the summer, now through Labor day. If you want to  add some extra fun to your family evening, plan to view the fireworks from the Gaylord Texan Resort parking garage roof ~ a great viewing platform, and they will have a music DJ, games for kids, giveaways, and food and beverages for purchase.

 Every Friday through Labor Day
8:00-10:00PM ~ Family friendly games and activities
9:30PM ~ Fireworks over Lake Grapevine  (weather permitting)

:: CHEAP ~ KellerFest Memorial Day Weekend Family Event
Friday to Sunday, May 25-27, 2012

Enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend with your family at KellerFest ~ a fun weekend full of family fun and activities.  This three-day family festival, sponsored by the Greater Keller Chamber of Commerce, is filled with live music, food, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, carnival rides, games, and even hot air balloon rides.

Parade in Historic Granbury
Saturday to Monday, May 26 to 28, 2012

Botanic Gardens

Extend a well-deserved “thank you” to America’s veterans by joining the city of Granbury for their Memorial Day Veteran’s Celebration. This 3-day event will include a variety of foods from local restaurants, a cook-off, arts and crafts for purchase, games and an old-fashioned Memorial Day parade around Granbury Square.

This Memorial Day, we take a pause in our regular blog posts to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.   Words are not enough to thank those who have defended our freedom ~ the cost of giving their lives on behalf of their country and the loss to their families is painful and great.

Join me today as we pray for our men and women who serve/served our country, as well as their families. If you have a little bit of time (about half an hour), also listen to this special Memorial Day Broadcast from Family Life TodayWarning ~ you’ll want your kleenex box beside you.

  • Fort Worth Herd Cattle Drive 11:30AM and 4:00PM
  • Gunfight Shows 11:45AM and 4:15PM
  • Horsemanship Training Class 9:00AM–6:00PM
  • Fort Worth Herd Cow Camp 1:30–2:30PM

Children and adults will have the opportunity for hands on, interactive
experiences including roping, sorting, saddling, cattle drive demonstrations
and more.
