FRUGAL ALERT: $5 Magazine Subscriptions ~ Cooking Light, Popular Mechanics, Disney Family Fun, House Beautiful, Country Living, & Many More

I rarely post magazine deals, but Amazon has a long list of magazine subscriptions on sale for $5 this week that is too good of a bargain not to mention. I’ve never seen this many magazines selling at such rock-bottom prices (even the 2 year subscriptions are incredibly cheap!).  If you already subscribe, you can use the offer to extend your subscription (just make sure you use the same name and address).

There is an abundance of $5 subscription titles to choose from. Here is a small sample of the list (great gift ideas!):

Home & Garden Interests

Magazine - Good HousekeepingMagazine - Cooking Light

 Magazines for the Family

Magazine - Disney Family FunMagazine - National Geographic

Special Interests

Magazine - Popular MechanicsMagazine - Road and Track

Savings Tip:  Bundle your purchases.  If you have any other shopping to do with Amazon, magazine purchases will work as a great filler to get the FREE Shipping from Amazon when you spend $25 or more.

These make excellent stocking stuffers at this price!

Frugal & Fun Fort Worth Weekend Events (Oct. 30-Nov. 1) ~ Fall Festivals, FREE Burrito’s at Chipotle, Seussical Musical, and More ~ Have Fun!

ABOUT THE FRUGAL & FUN FORT WORTH WEEKEND EDITION ~
Each Friday, we post ideas for free (or almost free) weekend entertainment for you and your family. Here are this weekend’s tips…

Frugal Weekend Entertainment Option #1

It’s Fall Festival Time!  Have a Safe and Fun Halloween!

FallFestPumkins

It’s that time of year…hay rides, kids dressed up as their favorite characters, and enough candy to keep every dentist in business! I love fall.

Are you looking for a fun and safe way to celebrate the weekend’s fall festivities with your family?  Lots of churches, schools, and businesses in the community have put together fun festivals with safe places to trick or treat and play games.

A few FREE suggestions:

Central Market Stores, Saturday ~ October 31
Fort Worth Location • 2-5 p.m. (4651 West Freeway)
South Lake Location • 3-5:30 p.m. (1425 E. Southlake Blvd)

Start out at the main entrance and grab a map, then wind your way through the store, stopping at each Scavenger Hunt station to get a treat! Once you’ve scavenged all there is to hunt, make your way out to the patio for the Bean Bag Toss, Cookie Decorating, Cake Walk and Costume Parade. They’ll have prizes galore and tons of fun for the kids!  More details here.

Bass Pro Shops, Saturday, Friday & Saturday ~ October 30-31
Grapevine Location (2501 Bass Pro Drive)
Friday, October 30 • 4-7:00 p.m.
Trick or Treat throughout the store.  Kid’s costume parade at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 31 • Noon-4:00 p.m.
Mask Decorating, Marshmallow Roasting, Dutch Oven Apple Cobbler
More details here.

Other local carnivals and festivals (lots of choices)
Click here for a nice list
of family-safe, harvest and fall festivals put on by churches and schools throughout Fort Worth and surrounding areas. Thanks to radio station KCBI 90.9 for putting together this great list.    Also, take a look at our previous post  FREE Pumpkin Carving Patterns & DFW Pumpkin Patch Locations for more ideas.

Frugal Weekend Entertainment Option #2

Dress Up Like a Burrito & Get a FREE Burrito from Chipotle!
Saturday, October 31, 6pm to closing

         Chipotle boorito

This makes me laugh.  If you will dress like a burrito (OR taco bowl OR salad) and head to Chipotle, you’ll get a free Burrito on October 31st.  I think the real entertainment will be “people watching” at Chipotle!

I’m still trying to figure out how you dress like a burrito/taco bowl/salad.  If you have any ideas, please share in the comments section of this blog post!
