 Friday, July 18, 2014 (and Every Friday through Labor Day)

See the skies light up over Lake Grapevine every Friday at the Summer Blast Fireworks Show starting at 9:30 p.m. Beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, this weekly show can be viewed on the rooftop of the parking garage at Gaylord Texan Resort, as well as at parks around Lake Grapevine. The Kimbell Art Museum ~ Fort Worth Art Program

The Kimbell Kids drop-in program introduces children (ages 12 and under) and their adult companions to fun and inspiring ways to enjoy art together. Each session features a brief gallery activity and a related studio-art project. Sign up at the entrance to the education studios in the Renzo Piano Pavilion one hour before the program. Do note that you may want to arrive early to sign up as space is very limited.

Visitors will enjoy an afternoon escape from the Texas heat to explore the galleries and savor a free scoop of ice cream. Docent-Guided tours for families, as well as children’s art activities are scheduled from Noon to 3PM. Admission to the Museum’s permanent collection is always FREE. Plus, visitors of the event can register to win a one-year supply of Blue Bell Ice Cream or a one-year Kimbell family membership.

Sunday Funday is a day of family friendly relaxation and fun in the sun at Panther Island Pavilion. Tubes and brand new pedal boats will be available for rent along with kayaks, stand up paddle boards and canoes. Stand up paddle board classes will be offered every Sunday at 1:00 p.m. — classes are very beginner friendly as long as you’re not afraid to get a little wet.
