Enjoy a fun evening with your family and friends at Friday on the Green, a FREE monthly live music series sponsored by Fort Worth South. This month’s lineup features Josh Weathers & The True Endeavors and Foxtrot Uniform. Bring your blankets and chairs (and even Fido if you want), and enjoy an evening of live music from great bands in a relaxing setting.

Where: Head to Magnolia Green Park ~ 1100 Block of Lipscomb, between Magnolia and Rosedale (across the street from the Village Homes row houses).
Cost: In lieu of admission (which is FREE), you are encouraged to make
a donation of school supplies to Southside Church of Christ (to help
children in need).


:: FREE Concert Series at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington
   June 8-10, 2012

Join your family and friends at this weekend’s FREE concerts at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington – part of their packed summer series of free music, dance and performing arts under the stars. The Friday evening concert (June 8) headlines The Derailers (celebrating the legacies of Buck Owens, George Jones, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Charlie Rich and more), Saturday (June 9) features No Justice (they’ve had 10 “Top 10” singles and a pair of number ones in a six-year span), and Sunday (June 10) features soul jazz artist, Red Young & Black Red Black.

Be sure to bring along a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor entertainment! Snacks or a picnic dinner, and beverages are allowed, but no glass containers, please.

Bring a blanket and lawn chairs and enjoy Disney’s The Muppets on the big screen, under the stars at Johnson Road Park Amphitheater in Keller. The movie will begin at 9:00PM (or as soon as the sun goes down). Get there by 8:00PM to find a good spot and enjoy a variety of family games and activities.

:: FREE Grapevine Lake Fireworks Show & Summer Blast
Family Event at the Gaylord Texan

Friday, June 8, 2012 (and Every Friday through Labor Day)

Friday nights over Grapevine Lake will sparkle with spectacular fireworks each Friday through the summer, now through Labor day. If you want to add some extra fun to your family evening, plan to view the fireworks from the Gaylord Texan Resort parking garage roof ~ a great viewing platform, and they will have a music DJ, games for kids, giveaways, and food and beverages for purchase.

:: FREE Yogi Bear Family Movie Showing

Join the Fort Worth Central Library for a free showing of the fun children’s movie Yogi Bear on Saturday, June 9. This event is part of the Central Library’s Second Saturday Film Series which runs monthly family friendly movies through the end of the year.

About the movie: The pic-a-nic-basket-stealing-bear joins forces with Boo-Boo and their old nemesis, Ranger Smith, in an attempt to save Jellystone Park from closing and, in the process, prove that our hero really is “smarter than the average bear.” Rated PG. 82 minutes.
