Mosey on down to the 5th Annual National Day of the American Cowboy celebration.  This Fort Worth Stockyards event (FREE) has been named the “Best Event of its kind in the nation” by western lifestyle magazine, American Cowboy. Don’t miss out on a day dedicated to celebrating the cowboy with lots of fun for the whole family!

:: FREE Grapevine Lake Fireworks Show & Summer Blast
Family Event at the Gaylord Texan

    Friday, July 22, 2011 (and Every Friday through Labor Day)

Friday nights over Grapevine Lake will sparkle with spectacular  firework shows each Friday through the summer, now through Labor day. If you want to  add some extra fun to your family evening, plan to view the fireworks from the Gaylord Texan Resort parking garage roof ~ a great viewing platform ~ and they will have a DJ, games for kids, and food and beverages for purchase.

:: FREE Dixieland Jazz Outdoor Concert ~ Southlake Town Square

Spend Saturday evening at Southlake Town Square listening to some fun Dixieland Jazz from RazzMaJazz. Bring your own blanket and lawn chairs for a fun and relaxing evening with your family. You’ll be treated to an entertaining show brought to you by the Arts Council Northeast. Light refreshments will be sold (but alcoholic beverages and glass containers are not allowed).

:: 8th Annual Modern Dance Festival at the Modern

This weekend marks the final days of the 8th annual Modern Dance Festival at The Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth. A variety of festival events are scheduled through July 24 and include lectures, dance performances, and films from the Dance On Camera festival of New York City.

Farmers’ markets across the country are in full swing, providing the perfect  inspiration for a fresh meal at home.  In this hour-long free class, Williams-Sonoma will discuss fruits and vegetables commonly found at the market, how to select and store them, plus creative ways to transform the season’s bounty into simple yet delicious summer meals.  As a bonus, participants enjoy 10% savings on select same-day store purchases.
