:: FREE Grapevine Lake Fireworks Show & Summer Blast
Family Event at the Gaylord Texan

    Friday, July 8, 2011 (and Every Friday through Labor Day)


Friday nights over Grapevine Lake will sparkle with spectacular  firework shows each Friday through the summer, now through Labor day. If you want to  add some extra fun to your family evening, plan to view the fireworks from the Gaylord Texan Resort parking garage roof ~ a great viewing platform, and they will have a DJ, games for kids, and food and beverages for purchase.

8:00-10:00PM ~ Family friendly games and activities
9:00PM ~ Fireworks over Lake Grapevine
Where: Gaylord Texan Resort ~ Level 5 of the Resort Garage.  Click

:: Parker County/Weatherford Peach Festival

The Parker County Peach Festival, hosted in Weatherford Texas, is a local tradition that has been fun for families for many years. With over 200 arts and crafts booths, food, and activities for the kiddos, this is a great spot for the whole family to have some fun. You will have the opportunity to sample all kinds of delectable peach goodies too ~ like peach cobbler, peach ice cream, peach jam, and the list goes on! Live music will feature American Idol finalist Tim Halperin.

:: 8th Annual Modern Dance Festival at the Modern
July 8 to 24, 2011

The 8th annual Modern Dance Festival at The Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth kicks off Friday, July 8 with a Choreographers Showcase at 8pm
in the Grand Lobby.  A variety of festival events are scheduled through July 24 and include lectures, site-specific performances, and films from the Dance On Camera festival of New York City.

Learn to make homemade ice cream!
Summer time is a perfect time to learn new cooking techniques ~ especially when it comes to ice cream from scratch! This week’s lesson at Williams-
Sonoma will show how to create tempting flavor combinations, along with other irresistible frozen favorites like sorbet and ice pops. You’ll get an opportunity  to try delicious samples, too (my mouth is already watering)!

Note: You’ll want to call to reserve your spot since class size is limited.

This Saturday, bring your child to a Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinic to help them learn a new woodworking skill and make a FREE project to take home.

All workshops are FREE, but you should probably show up early to make sure you have a kit for your little ones.
