Bring the family for a weekend full of fun activities at the re-opening Celebration
of Burnett Park (more widely known as the downtown park with the giant man
cutout sculpture).
Weekend event highlights:
- Friday, 8:30pm ~ Ferris Bueller’s Day Off movies under the sky.
- Saturday, 10:00am-4:00pm ~ Kid’s Party in the Park with face
painting, live entertainment, make & take pottery, interactive buskers
from the Science & History Museum, FW Nature Center reptiles, obstacle
course and much more! - Saturday, 6:30PM-10:00PM ~ Big Band Concert featuring Big
Daddy Alright and a Frank Sinatra Tribute Show with Ricki Derek
and his 16-piece band. - Food will be available to purchase, including Kincaid’s burgers on
Saturday (now that is Fort Worth bliss!).

Kudos go out to local home town American Idol favorite, Casey James, for
making it to the top 3 this week! To celebrate, Casey has a whole day of
meet and greet and other publicity activities around town that will
culminate with a late afternoon welcome home parade and performance
in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The 2010 Fort Worth Cats baseball season gets underway tonight as they
take on Shreveport-Bossier. There will be an abundance of Opening Day
festivities, including:
- Guests of honor ~ National Baseball Hall of Famer, Ferguson Jenkins
and former National League MVP Maury Wills - Military flyover before the game
- Fireworks show after the Cats beat Shreveport-Bossier

:: Fort Worth Botanic Garden ~ Herb Society Festival

Enjoy the beauty of the FW Botanic Gardens while learning something new
at the 25th Annual Fort Worth Herb Society Festival. This educational event
and sale will feature classes by meteorologist Rebecca Miller, Judy Barrett
(publisher of Homegrown Magazine), and Ann McCormick (author and
columnist for The Herb Quarterly). Other activities include a silent auction
and festival store.
