The Amon Carter Museum of American Art announces the return of Family Fun Week, a free public program for children and their families that brings the museum’s collection to life through art exploration and art-making activities. Each day of Family Fun Week will share works of art from various parts of the United States. Activities are designed for children ages 5–12.

:: FREE Spring Break Wonders at The Modern Museum in Fort Worth

Take advantage of FREE family programming at The Modern Art Museum during Spring Break with daily events for families with preschool and school-age children. Each session is led by a docent and includes a gallery project designed by the education department. Registration is not required, but do note that you may want to arrive early as attendance is limited to 45 children per session.
Special Monday Bonus: The museum will also offer FREE admission plus kids can eat FREE at the museum’s restaurant, Cafe Modern on Monday (children under 12 can receive a FREE hot dog and bag of chips).

Fort Worth’s herd cowboys will present a fun and educational demonstration about the tools, equipment and techniques used during the cattle drive era of the late 1800′s at Fort Worth Cow Camp. Children and adults will have the opportunity for hands on, interactive experiences including roping, sorting, saddling, cattle drive demonstrations, chuck wagon stories, and more.

Grab your bike and join Mayor Betsy Price and district council members for the kick off of 2016 Rolling Town Halls with a casual bike ride through a planned route. Expect a 45 minute easy 8-mile, no-drop, bike ride through Fairmount-Southside Historic District. Pssst…if you don’t want to ride but want to take part in the town hall (or just meet Mayor Betsy), plan to meet at the park for a group walk starting and ending in the same location.

If you are looking for an interesting and free outing, put Fort Worth’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing on the list. Most people do not know that half of the nation’s paper currency is printed right here in Fort Worth and that you can tour the facility for FREE while watching billions of dollars being printed right in front of you! Spring Break week is a perfect time to visit, as they are hosting a special week of interactive demonstrations, exhibits and displays showcasing the history of currency, the intricacies of the printing process and more.

This Spring Break, explore the nature trails surrounding River Legacy Living Science Center with a FREE family friendly naturalist-led nature walk. Hikes will depart from River Legacy Living Science Center on Monday at 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm. No reservations required.
