See the skies light up over Lake Grapevine every Friday at the Summer Blast Fireworks show starting at 9:30 p.m. Running Fridays through Labor Day weekend, this weekly show can be viewed on the rooftop of the parking garage at the Gaylord Texan, as well as at parks around Lake Grapevine. Celebrate Local ~ Celebrate Fort Worth! Panther Fest is an outdoor festival showcasing Fort Worth musicians, food, kids area with bounce houses, local artisan booths, fireworks, and more. And, this year’s fest features the famed nationwide event Slide the City – a 2,000 foot water slide down North Main Street!  Please note: that admission into the festival will be FREE but to ride the slide, you must have already purchased tickets from Slide the City (and unfortunately, tickets are now sold out).

Program at River Legacy

River Legacy Living Science Center is hosting two guided hikes at 10 am to celebrate National Trails Day. A family friendly hike will explore the nature trails surrounding the Science Center for an easy 30- to 45-minute hike. An extended adult hike will explore the trails further into River Legacy Parks for a 1 1/2 to 2-hour long hike. Both hikes are free, but space is limited in each. Please RSVP to 817.860.6752.

Special Exhibition Tour at the Amon Carter

Gather in the Amon Carter Museum exhibition space to experience a guided interactive tour of Samuel F. B. Morse’s iconic painting Gallery of the Louvre (1831–1833) along with a selection of works from the museum’s own collection that, like Morse’s painting, feature museum and gallery spaces as their subject matter. Though Morse is most widely known as a scientist and inventor, he was a leading artist of his time. Filled with his careful and personal selection of the Louvre’s finest works, all of which he painstakingly reproduced in miniature, the painting is a signal work of transatlantic exchange intended to connect American audiences with great European artworks.
