The City of North Richland Hills 2015 Sounds of Spring Concert Series kicks off with the area’s best bands taking the stage at the NRH Plaza — Friday evenings in April and May. Bring your friends and family out for fun, great music and relaxation under the stars this Spring! Tonight’s show (Rain or Shine) offers a fun concert featuring local favorite Memphis Soul. This free family event also includes a kid zone with games and crafts for the kids, as well as food you can buy from a variety of gourmet food trucks. Seating for the concert is on the lawn, so don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets.

Join Keller Fire Station No. 2 to celebrate the addition of a new engine to the Keller Fire Department fleet. The department will host its first “Push-in Ceremony” that morning, inviting members of the public to assist in drying the engine off from its wash and join in pushing it into its bay. Following the push-in, Station 2 will host an open house until noon. Members of the public are welcome to stop by for station tours, a look at KFD’s equipment and vehicles, and light refreshments.

A Tarrant County Master Gardener —who also happens to be our favorite local garden blogger from Grapevine ( find Signature Gardens blog here and here) will give a presentation called “All About Container Gardening” from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. At the presentation you will learn how to grow beautiful plants that will brighten your yard and satisfy your palate. After the presentation, stay for a perennial plant exchange or help the Library start a seed exchange by donating seeds from your home garden.
