In DFW, this FREE Admission program takes place this weekend at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and in Dallas at The Perot Museum of Nature & Science.

Target First Saturdays are designed especially for children in preschool to elementary school and feature a lineup of activities that encourage creative thought through a monthly “Big Idea.” Children can engage in art projects and experience creativity in action through scavenger hunts, performances, storytime and more.

Each session features a brief gallery activity and a related studio-art project. Sign up at the entrance to the education studios in the Renzo Piano Pavilion one hour before the program. Do note that you may want to arrive early to sign up as space is very limited.

This Saturday, bring your child to Home Depot’s Kids Workshop to help them learn a new woodworking skill and build their very own spring planter to take home. Each Kids Workshop participant will receive a kid-sized orange apron (similar to a Home Depot associate apron) and an achievement pin. All workshops are free, but you should probably show up early to insure you have a kit for your little ones.  For ages 5-12.
