The Kimbell Art Museum ~ Fort Worth Art Program

The Kimbell Art Museum has had the good fortune of having two related masterpieces in its permanent collection — Caravaggio’s Cardsharps and Georges de La Tour’s Cheat with the Ace of Clubs, allowing an unprecedented side-by-side comparison.  The Friday Evening lecture by Claire Barry, director of conservation for the Kimbell, will compare and explore the relation and techniques behind these two iconic paintings. Do note that you may want to arrive early as space is limited.

The Grapevine Historical Society celebrates the Grand Opening of its new Historical Museum located in the Grapevine Ice House building. Kick off for the event will be the dedication of the 1907 Grapevine Fire Bell and remarks by City Mayor William D. Tate. Visitors will be able to enjoy refreshments, tours by Historical Society docents, and more.
