:: FREE ~ First Flight Day Celebration in Fort Worth

On a windy afternoon on Jan. 12, 1911, Roland Garros, memmber of a touring group of French and American pilots, took to the air and became the first person to perform a powered flight in Fort Worth. A crowd of nearly 17,000 people watched the event at the Fort Worth Driving Park near present-day Montgomery Plaza. To commemorate the event, the Veterans Memorial Air Park will host a First Flight Day celebration on Saturday. Learn more about Fort Worth’s aviation heritage at this FREE event.

About the movie: Filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson come together to bring to life Herge’s comic series based on a young reporter named Tintin.
