This Saturday, the National Parks are offering FREE entrance in honor of National Public Lands Day. As part of the celebration, you can enjoy any of our more than 400 National Parks for FREE. Do note that not all national parks charge fees, but those that do will waive their costs these days (for example, $20 a car at Big Bend or $25 a car + $12/person at Yellowstone ). at Fort Worth’s Central Library

Fort Worth’s Central Library presents the exhibition, Vaquero: Genesis of the Texas Cowboy, now through October 20, 2014. The collection of more than 100 photos and artifacts explores the centuries‐old vaquero (cowboy) tradition of northern Mexico.

Exhibit highlights: Photographs from the Bill Wittliff Collection, the original model of Vaquero de Fort Worth statue (commemorates the vaqueros’ contribution to Fort Worth history), and artifacts including tools, clothing, hand‐tooled saddles, and more.
