The annual Denton Blues Fest has a strong weekend line up of fabulous musicians. There will be activities for the kids as well as lots of good food, dance, and fun to be had for the whole family!

:: FREE Music Under the Stars Fall Concert Series
at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington
Friday to Sunday, September 20-22, 2013

Join your family and friends for an evening of FREE music at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington – part of their fall series of free music and performing arts under the stars. Be sure to bring along a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor entertainment. Snacks or a picnic dinner, and beverages are allowed, but no glass containers, please.

This weekend’s line up includes four-time Grammy nominee, singer/pianist Marcia Ball, Dallas-based singer/songwriter Larry G(ee), The Killdares (one of our local favorites), and Grammy-award winning drummer Joe McCarthy & the UTA Jazz Orchestra.

Preservation is the Art of the City is a 3-week public art show and sale featuring 45 jury-selected artists. This non-profit gallery promotes and supports local studio artists as well as historic preservation in Fort Worth.

This Saturday, Calloway’s Nursery is hosting a gardening clinic focused on fall gardening with flowers ~ a great class to learn how to express your creativity with fresh colors and textures in your flowerbeds and containers.  The class will cover the best new Fall plants, important planting and care tips, and design secrets to add flair. The event is FREE and open to the public.

:: FREE Cowtown Opry Performance at The Cowtown Coliseum

Hear classic western music come to life as Cowtown Opry members perform a free music exhibition on the steps of the Livestock Exchange building. This live family friendly music event will take place every Sunday and will feature a different theme each week ~ Western Gospel music will be featured on the 5th Sunday of the month.

This week’s technique lesson at Williams Sonoma will demonstrate how to use stove top pressure cookers as well as electric ones.  They’ll teach you how to prepare fall’s bounty of root vegetables and fruits and reduce cooking time by up to 70%.  Note: You’ll want to call to reserve your spot since class size is limited.
