:: FREE ~ 2013 Fort Worth Stock Show All Western Parade

Oh I love a parade! Over 100,000 people will line the streets of downtown Fort Worth to watch the “All Western Parade” and to celebrate the opening of the 2013 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. This traditional event is held each year and boasts being the largest western themed parade, as well as the longest 100% non-motorized (no cars) parade in the world. The parade will feature over 4,000 participants including covered wagons, horses, more than 1,000 head of livestock, and of course cowboys!

When: Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00AM
Where: The parade assembles at the corner of Weatherford and Commerce streets, heads south on Commerce, west on Ninth Street, north on Houston Street before ending at the corner of Houston and Weatherford streets. Click here to view the new 2013 parade route.
How: Park at one of the many FREE downtown lots (Sundance Square, the parking garage next to Bass Hall, etc.) and walk to your viewing spot.

As a complement to this year’s Stock Show & Rodeo, the Central Library is inviting teens to join them for special screenings of four action-packed movies celebrating all that is rodeo. This Saturday’s FREE movie showing features “8 Seconds” starring Luke Perry and Stephen Baldwin.
About the movie: This film chronicles the life of the 1987 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Bull Riding World Champion, Lane Frost. This true story follows Lane’s marriage, friendships with three-time World Champion, Tuff Hedeman and the road to becoming a rodeo legend. Rated PG-13. 105 minutes.
