:: Fort Worth’s 2012 Fall Gallery Night
Saturday ~ September 8

Fort Worth’s annual Fall Gallery Night is a FREE, “Open House” event across over 40 locations in the Fort Worth area. Participating venues include all types, from the legendary Fort Worth museums in the cultural district to the chic art gallery showrooms of the south side ~ all in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Even BRIT joins the celebration of our community’s cultural richness and visual arts with their Art and Science of Botany event.

Many locations will host live music and light h’ors d’oeuvres, and you’ll have the opportunity to mingle with many of the featured artists.

:: FREE Concert Series at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington
Saturday and Sunday ~ September 8 & 9

Join your family and friends for a FREE concert at the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington – part of the Fall series of free music, dance and performing arts under the stars. The entertainment schedule includes a wide span of music genres including jazz, country and even reggae.

The Saturday evening concert (Sept. 8) features 35-time recording artist and Texas Country Music Hall of Fame  inductee, Johnny Rodriguez. Switching gears, Sunday’s concert (Sept. 9) brings Danny Wright and his soothing piano compositions to the stage.

Runs for Two Weeks ~ September 8-22

Preservation is the Art of the City is a 2-week public art show and sale featuring jury-selected artists. This non-profit gallery promotes and supports local studio artists as well as historic preservation in Fort Worth.

:: Attend a FREE Fall Tree & Shrub Planting Class at Calloway’s
Saturday, September 8

This Saturday, Calloway’s Nursery is hosting a gardening clinic focused on trees and shrubs ~ a great class to consider attending since this is the perfect time of the year to establish foundation plantings. You’ll expand your knowledge about the best varieties for your space and learn proper planting techniques for a healthier, more beautiful plant. The event is FREE and open to the public.

This Saturday, bring your child to a Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinic to help them learn a new woodworking skill and make a FREE project to take home. All workshops are FREE, but you should probably show up early to make sure
you have a kit for your little ones.

This week’s technique lesson at Williams Sonoma will demonstrate the
essential components of good knife skills. Learn how to correctly slice,
dice, chop, julienne, and chiffonade. Bring a knife from home, and you
