Now through September 3rd, active duty military and their families can get FREE admission to over 1,500 museums located around the country, thanks to the Blue Star Museums initiative.
The list of participating museums in the Fort Worth and Dallas area includes:

Dallas Museum of Art
Dallas Heritage Village
Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance
Nasher Sculpture Center
Frontiers of Flight Museum
International Museum of Cultures
The Virtual Steam Car Museum,Inc.
National Scouting Museum
Collin County Farm Museum
The National Vietnam War Museum
Go here to find a list of all the 1,500+ participating museums across the U.S. ~ through Labor Day, September 3, 2012. Do note that some of the participating museums (like the Amon Carter and the Kimbell), provide free entrance to their permanent exhibits, regardless of military affiliation.
P.S. To get the free admission, you will need to show your military ID. The free offer is valid for the military ID holder plus up to five family members. Spouses of deployed military are eligible to take part as well (go here for helpful information).
