In honor of our veterans and active military service members, we have compiled a long list of Fort Worth Veterans Day FREE dining and other local savings events. Note that many of these discounts extend beyond Veterans Day, November 11th and some are even offered year round. Most do require proof of military service (we’ve tried to provide details where we have them, but you might want to call before you go if you are unsure). Here’s the scoop:
FREE Meals & Other Discounts For

Eat FREE at Applebee’s ~ November 11
Military veterans and active-duty service members will be able to eat for free at any Applebee’s across the U.S. on Veterans Day, November 11. There will be seven entrée choices on the FREE menu, and guests will be asked to show proof of military service. A complete listing of all Applebee’s locations is available at applebees.com.
FREE Appetizer at Carrabba’s ~ November 8-11
All active and retired veterans get a free appetizer.
FREE Pizza at California Pizza Kitchen ~ November 11
Veterans and active military will receive a free pizza of your choice on November 11th. Learn more here.
FREE Breakfast at Denny’s ~ November 11
Active, inactive and retired military personnel get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam on from 5 a.m. to noon at participating locations.
FREE Dinner at Golden Corral ~ November 17
Golden Corral’s annual Military Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, November 17th, from 5 to 9 pm. The FREE dinner meal is a special “thank you tribute” to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. If you are a veteran, retired, currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to join Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation dinner. For more information go here .
FREE Pancakes at IHOP ~ November 11
Participating IHOP Restaurants will offer veterans and active duty military free Red, White and Blue pancakes from 7am to 7pm.
FREE Doughnut & Coffee at Krispy Kreme ~ November 11
Krispy Kreme will give a free doughnut and coffee to veterans and active military in uniform (or with ID) on November 11.
FREE Yogurt at Menchi’s ~ November 11
Menchi’s Yogurt will give all veterans and active duty a free 6 oz. frozen yogurt.
FREE Meal at Olive Garden ~ November 11
Veterans and active military will receive a FREE meal from a select list of entree. Show a military ID or other proof of service to qualify.
FREE Meal at On the Border ~ November 11
On the Border is giving veterans and active military who dine in the restaurants a free meal from its “create your own combo” menu.
FREE Appetizer & Drink at Outback Steakhouse ~ November 11
Outback Steakhouse will honor our heroes with a free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and a beverage in celebration of Veterans Day. Outback is also honoring all service members with 15% off their meals Nov. 12 through Dec. 31. These offers are open to all active and former military service members with a valid ID.
FREE Appetizer at Red Lobster ~ November 10 to 13
Get a FREE Appetizer on Veterans Day with military ID or proof of service at Red Lobster (from a select list of appetizers).
FREE Burger and Fries at Red Robin ~ November 11
Veterans and active duty military get a free Red’s Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries at Red Robin.
FREE Coffee at Starbucks ~ November 11
Veterans, active duty service members and spouses get a free tall coffee at participating Starbucks locations.
FREE Appetizer at Texas Land & Cattle ~ November 11
Texas Land & Cattle is giving all active duty, reserve and retired service members a free appetizer.
FREE Lunch at Texas Roadhouse ~ November 11
Texas Roadhouse locations across the country will provide a free lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from a special menu to honor the men and women of our armed forces. FREE Store Offers & Other Special Discounts
For Veterans and Active Military
10% Off at Home Depot and Lowes ~ Year Round!
Use your military ID at any Home Depot or Lowes and receive a 10% discount on your purchases. The 10% military discount is available to: Active-duty military members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, honorably discharged veterans and immediate family members of all those groups. Customers requesting a discount must be able to show a valid military ID card or other proof of military service.
FREE Wedding Gown for Military Brides!
I LOVE this freebie ~ so fantastic on so many levels!! Select stores across the U.S. are offering military brides FREE wedding gowns through the non-profit group, Brides Across America. The gowns are samples and overstocks and worth $500 to $3000. There are not any stores in DFW participating (I hope that changes in the future), but there are a few stores taking part in other parts of Texas (Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso). SeaWorld Parks FREE Tickets ~ through December 31
Sea World is providing complimentary admission for active duty military, active members of a reserve or National Guard unit, and up to three direct dependents. Valid for ONE FREE single-day admission per person, per year, to SeaWorld in San Antonio and their sister adventure parks in other parts of the country. They are also offering additional 50% off tickets for up to 6 family members through Veterans Day. Learn more here.
FREE Entrance Day at U.S. National Parks ~ November 11
To honor America’s service men and women, the U.S. National Parks will not charge entrance fees Veterans Day. Visitors to public recreation lands managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation are invited to take a day to honor and reflect on what our service men and women have done to maintain our freedom and keep peace around the world. Knott’s Berry Farm FREE Admission ~ Until January 4, 2014
Knott’s Berry Farm continues its tradition of honoring the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. military with free admission during its 25th annual Military Tribute. The free-admission offer applies to all U.S. veterans, retired and active military personnel and one guest. Up to six additional tickets may be purchased at Knott’s Ticket Booths for a discount through January 4. Must present military ID or proof of U.S. military service at Knott’s ticket booths to receive the complimentary tickets. Read more here.
