What is Included in Texas’ 2014 Tax Exemption and Tax-Free Weekend Holiday?

Just a reminder ~ the 2014 back-to-school Texas tax exemption weekend starts today!  Here’s the scoop on what items qualify as tax-free…

During the August 8-10 tax holiday, Texas residents receive tax-free shopping benefits on the following categories:

• Clothing (most items under $100 qualify)
• Shoes (under $100)
• Backpacks and messenger/book bags for elementary
  and secondary students (under $100 )
• School supplies under $100 such as binders, crayons,
  paper, and more (see complete list of qualifying school
  supplies here)
