There are oodles of special Veterans Day FREE dining and other give-away events in the coming days to honor of our veterans and active military service members. Note that many of these discounts extend beyond Veterans Day, November 11th and some are even offered year round. Most do require proof of military service (we’ve tried to provide details where we have them, but you might want to call before you go). Here’s the scoop:
FREE Meals & Other Discounts For

Eat FREE at Applebee’s ~ November 11
Military veterans and active-duty service members will be able to eat for free at any Applebee’s across the U.S. on Veterans Day, November 11. There will be seven entrée choices on the FREE menu, and guests will be asked to show proof of military service. A complete listing of all Applebee’s locations is available at applebees.com.
BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse ~ November 11
Veterans and those on active military duty, visit your local BJ’s Restaurant on Monday, November 11 to get a FREE lunch entrée or a one-topping mini or individual pizza.
FREE Burger at Champps Americana ~ November 12
Champps is celebrating our Veterans and Active Military by providing a FREE Champps Cheeseburger and Fries meal on November 12th. Proof of military service is required and is for dine-in only at participating locations. Go here to learn more.
FREE Pizza at California Pizza Kitchen ~ November 11 and 12
Veterans will receive a free pizza of your choice and a free non-alcoholic drink, on Sunday, November 11th or Monday, November 12th.
FREE Meal at Chili’s ~ November 11
Chilis is offering a FREE meal from a special menu to all veterans and active duty personnel on Veterans Day. This offer is available from 11am – 5pm on November 11 at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Veterans and active duty military simply show proof of military service. Beverages and gratuity are not included.
FREE Pancakes at Denny’s ~ November 12
Denny’s is giving away a FREE all you can eat pancake breakfast to all active, retirees, and veterans with a valid military ID or proof of military service, from 6am – 2pm on Monday, November 12. Go here to learn more.
FREE Bagel at Einstein Bros ~ November 11
Veterans can get a FREE classic or signature bagel on Sunday, November 11th (does not include cream cheese or other toppings).
Eat FREE at Golden Corral ~ Monday, November 12
Golden Corral’s annual Military Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, November 12th, from 4 to 9 pm. The FREE dinner meal is a special “thank you tribute” to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. If you are a veteran, retired, currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to join Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation dinner. For more information go here .
FREE Cookie at Great American Cookie Co ~ November 11
Great American Cookie Company is giving away a FREE cookie for all military on Sunday, November 11th. Show a military ID or wear your uniform to qualify.
FREE Meal at Olive Garden ~ November 11

Use your military ID at any Home Depot or Lowes and receive a 10% discount on your purchases. The 10% military discount is available to: Active-duty military members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, honorably discharged veterans and immediate family members of all those groups. Customers requesting a discount must be able to show a valid military ID card or other proof of military service.
FREE Wedding Gown for Military Brides!
I love this FREEBIE ~ so fantastic on so many levels!! Select stores across the U.S. are offering military brides FREE wedding gowns through the non-profit group, Brides Across America. The gowns are samples and overstocks and worth $500 to $3000. There are not any stores in DFW participating (I hope that changes for next year), but there are several stores taking part in the Houston area, San Antonio, Fredericksburg, and another in Austin. FREE Entrance Day at U.S. National Parks ~ November 10-12
To honor America’s service men and women, the U.S. National Parks will not charge entrance fees Veterans Day Weekend. Visitors to public recreation lands managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation are invited to take a day to honor and reflect on what our service men and women have done to maintain our freedom and keep peace around the world. Colonial Williamsburg FREE Admission ~ November 9-12
Colonial Williamsburg honors active duty military, guard and reservists, retirees, veterans and their dependents with free admission passes on the following dates: Nov. 9-12. The complimentary ticket includes admission to the Colonial Williamsburg exhibition sites, art museums, daytime programs, as well as free parking. Appropriate military identification is required.
