Bring the family to celebrate the grand opening of the cultural districts newest family member ~ BRIT (Botanical Research Institute of Texas).  Saturday, they will celebrate the opening of the new headquarters in Fort Worth with an all day family festival full of great activities.  Amazing entertainers will perform on their outdoor main stage and there will be food from Z’s Cafe, Qdoba Mexican Grill, and Los Vaqueros.  Entertainment includes:

11:00 a.m.        Radio Disney
1:30 p.m.          Mondo Drummers
2:15 p.m.          TCU Cheerleaders
2:45 p.m.          Ballet Folklorico Azteca de Fort Worth
3:30 p.m.          Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth
4:30 p.m.          Telegraph Canyon

Be sure to bring along a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor entertainment!

Botanic Gardens

Enjoy the beauty of the FW Botanic Gardens while learning something new
at the 26th Annual Fort Worth Herb Society Festival. This educational event
and sale will feature classes by meteorologist Rebecca Miller (Living Natural First radio show co-host & WB33 Chief Meteorologist) and Mary
(Former GFWHS president and herb expert). Other activities include a silent auction and festival store.

Frugal shopping tip:  Last year, I found a vast selection of native plants & herbs that we enjoyed all summer at great prices.  Plus I scored some amazing homemade soap made from all natural ingredients, by a local artisan ~ $1 to $2 a bar.

The harp quintet, Harp Essence, will bring the musical sounds of the season to life with its concert, “Spring Serenade.”  The five members of Harp Essence will feature a variety of selections from their repertoire in the beautiful Gallery of the Central Library in Fort Worth
