Plus, in honor of our veterans, many restaurants, retailers, and other venues are offering up really great Veterans Day FREEBIES and discounts just for veterans and active military service members. FREE Meals & Other Discounts For Veterans
and Active Military

Eat FREE at Applebee’s ~ November 11, 2010
Military veterans and active-duty service members will be able to eat for free at any Applebee’s across the U.S. on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2010. There will be seven entrée choices on the FREE menu, and guests will be asked to show proof of military service. For more information, visit the Applebee’s website . FREE Meal at Chili’s ~ November 11, 2010
Chilis is offering a FREE meal to all veterans and active duty personnel on Thursday, November 11th.  There are six entrees on their FREE menu which will be available during business hours  for dine-in guests.  Beverages and gratuity are not included. Veterans and active duty military simply show proof of military service.  More details here.

FREE Appetizer & Drink at Outback Steakhouse ~ November 11, 2010

FREE Pizza at Pizzeria Uno Chicago Grill ~ November 11, 2010

Subway – Free 6-Inch Sub ~ November 11, 2010
Many Subway locations are giving away a free six-inch sub sandwich to military veterans on Veteran’s Day. Be sure to check with your local Subway restaurant to make sure they are participating (they are franchises, so this offer may not be available at all locations). Must show military I.D. card or proof of service at time of purchase.

Eat FREE at Golden Corral ~ Monday, November 15, 2010
Golden Corral’s 10th annual Military Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010, from 5 to 9 pm in all Golden Corral restaurants nationwide. The FREE dinner meal is a special “thank you tribute” to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. 10% Off at Home Depot and Lowes ~ Year Round!
Use your military ID at any Home Depot or Lowes  and receive a 10% discount on your purchases. The 10% military discount is available to: Active-duty military members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, honorably discharged veterans and immediate family members of all those groups. Customers requesting a discount must be able to show a valid military ID card or other proof of military service.

FREE Walking Cane at Sam’s Club ~ November 10-12, 2010
Over 36,000 Hugo canes will be given away free of charge to United States military veterans in need of mobility assistance. Sam’s Club membership is not required, but supplies are limited so you may want to call your local store before heading there. Proof of military service may be required. Each Sam’s Club location will have approximately 40 canes and will be giving them away starting Wednesday, November 10th thru Friday November 12th, 2010 while supplies last. Details here.

SeaWorld Parks FREE Admission ~ Now through December 31, 2010
Sea World is providing complimentary admission for active duty military, active members of a reserve or National Guard unit, and up to three direct dependants. Valid for ONE FREE single-day admission per person, per year, to SeaWorld or the following Adventure Parks (Learn more here ):

Fee FREE Day at U.S. National Parks ~ November 11, 2010
To honor America’s service men and women, the U.S. National Parks will not charge entrance fees on Thursday, November 11, 2010. Visitors to public recreation lands managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation are invited to take a day to honor and reflect on what our service men and women have done to maintain our freedom and keep peace around the world. Knott’s Berry Farm FREE Admission ~ November 1-26.
Knott’s Berry Farm pays tribute to past and present U.S. armed forces personnel during Veteran’s Month with FREE park admission for them and a guest November 1-25. Up to six additional tickets can be purchased for only $15 each. Military ID or DD214 presented with a photo ID required for discount. Learn more.

Colonial Williamsburg FREE Admission
Colonial Williamsburg honors America’s Veterans with a procession down Duke of Gloucester Street, 4:30 p.m., beginning at the Capitol. The parade culminates in a public ceremony, with militia and cannon crew firing volleys in recognition of those who serve. Hear Colonial Williamsburg’s Fifes and Drums, and speakers from past and present. Active duty military, guard and reservists, retirees, veterans and their dependents enjoy free admission passes on the following dates: Nov. 6-11.

I am so very thankful for every service member in our military who has served our great nation. So, to the men and women who answered the call in both times of war and peace, I thank you for your courage, honor, and commitment.
