It’s that time of year ~ hay rides, kids dressed up as their favorite characters,
and enough candy to keep every dentist in business! I love fall.

Are you looking for a fun and safe way to celebrate the weekend’s fall festivities
with your family? Lots of churches, schools, and businesses in the community
have put together fun festivals with
safe places to trick or treat and play games.

A few FREE suggestions:

• Grapevine’s 24th Annual Halloween on Main St. ~ Friday
Main Street Grapevine • 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Join other costumed families at Grapevine’s 24th Annual Halloween on Main
Street. Trick-or-Treat up and down Main Street while participating in a variety
of carnival games, bounce houses, giant slides, crafts, music and more. Tons
of candy, prizes and free kettle corn for everyone.  More details here.

• Trunk or Treat at the Met Church ~ Friday
The Met Church in Fort Worth, 11301 Old Denton Road • 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Bring your whole family for a great time! Trick-or-Treat while enjoying a
 variety of carnival games and fun family activities. Lots of candy, prizes

• Bass Pro Shops Pumpkin Patch Event, Friday ~ Friday to Sunday 
Grapevine Location (2501 Bass Pro Drive)
Friday, October 29 • 4-8:00 p.m.
Trick or Treating throughout the store. Kid’s costume parade at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday, October 30-31 • Noon-5:00 p.m.
Crafts, Marshmallow Roasting, & Dutch Oven Apple Cobbler

• Central Market Stores Go Batty ~ Saturday
Fort Worth Location • 2:30-5:00 p.m. (4651 West Freeway)
South Lake Location • 2:00-5:00 p.m. (1425 E. Southlake Blvd)

Start out at the main entrance and grab a map, then wind your way through
the store, stopping at each Scavenger Hunt station to get a treat! Once you’ve
scavenged all there is to hunt, make your way out to the patio for the Bean
bag toss, cookie decorating, cake walk and costume parade. They’ll have
prizes galore and tons of fun for the kids! More details here.

• Treat Street in the Fort Worth Stockyards ~ Sunday
Fort Worth Stockyards Station • 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Join Historic Fort Worth’s Stockyards Station and RADIO DISNEY for a safe,
family friendly Halloween Party that’s FREE and FUN! Event includes trick
or treating at Stockyards Station shops, FREE hay rides, costume contest,
pumpkin decorating, games, prizes and more.  More details here.

:: 19th Annual Fort Worth Boo at the Zoo Event 
    Friday to Sunday ~ October 29-31 

 This year, Boo at the Zoo is ALL NEW! The Fort Worth zoo has given this
long-standing event new DAYTIME HOURS and will feature many of the
same great events, shows, games and candy PLUS more animals! Boo at the
activities will take place at the Zoo’s special events site, and the entire
park will be decked-out for the event. Put on your favorite costume, enjoy
carnival games, treat stations, and of course animals galore!

Cost:  Boo at the Zoo is $3, after paying zoo admission. Regular zoo

:: FREE Fort Worth Alliance Air Show, Featuring the Blue Angels   
    Saturday-Sunday, October 30-31, 2010

 Air Show

The US Navy Blue Angels and the F22 Raptor are coming to
North Texas!
Bring the family to Alliance Airport for a full-day of daring
aerobatic maneuvers, static displays (including Warbirds, helicopters and
jets), simulators, children’s activities, fun food and more.

When: Saturday and Sunday, October 30-31, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Gates are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Performances begin at approximately 10 a.m.
    • Performances last until approximately 4 p.m.
    • The Blue Angels are the final performance in the mid to late afternoon.
Cost: Admission is FREE. Parking is $20 per vehicle.


:: Take a FREE Cooking Technique Class at Williams-Sonoma
    Sunday and Monday, October 31-November 1, 2010


Learn a new cooking technique!
Join Williams-Sonoma for a FREE cooking class where they will show you
how to host a memorable Thanksgiving feast.  You’ll learn all the basics
including how to roast a juicy turkey, make creamy mashed potatoes, and
prepare classic side dishes. With the holidays around the corner, this is a
great time to polish up on your cooking techniques!

Note: You’ll want to call to reserve your spot since class size is limited.
