There are lots of Christmas Tree Lighting festivities happening around
town this weekend! Pick one (or two!), heat up a thermos of hot chocolate,
bundle up, and head out to create a fun memory for your family!

Light parade, arrival of Santa, snow hill tubing, gingerbread house
    decorating, lighting of the tree, crafts, live entertainment, and more!

City of Roanoke Christmas Event & Parade 
What:
  Live story telling & photos with Santa, train rides, carolers,
    carriage rides, live music, Christmas parade, crafts, free treats,

Where: Roanoke, Austin Street Plaza, 221 N. Oak Street

 North Richland Hills Tree Lighting Celebration
What: 
Fireworks, arrival by Santa & Mrs. Clause, mini-train rides,
    110-foot long snow tubing hill of REAL SNOW(!!), marshmallow roast,
    holiday village, holiday market, lighting of the tree, live entertainment,
    and more!  Learn more here.
When:
Saturday, December 4, 2010 ~ 3:00-9:00PM
Where: NRH20 in North Richland Hills, 9001 Texas Highway 26
Cost: Admission is FREE.  Parking is FREE at Tarrant County College
    Northeast Campus located on Boulevard 26. Please bring a new,
    unwrapped toy or canned food item for the City’s annual toy and food
    drive. Some kids activities have a small fee ($1-$3).

:: FREE Journey to the Manger: Live Nativity & Petting Zoo
    Friday, December 3, 2010

  

Join in for some FREE family Christmas fun this Friday. The Journey
to the Manger
live nativity (at Northwood Church in Keller) will allow you to
experience the sights, sounds, and smells of that first Christmas when Jesus
was born in the stable. 

Journey to the Manger features a live petting zoo for kids, including sheep,
goats, rabbits, pigs, cows, and a miniature horse. En
joy FREE  hot chocolate

will arrive by helicopter at 8:00 AM and will be joined by Mrs. Clause,
Frosty, Rudolph and Santa’s elves.

Each Kids Workshop participant will receive a kid-sized orange apron
(similar to a Home Depot associate apron) and an achievement pin. All
workshops are free, but you should probably show up early to insure
you have a kit for your little ones.
