The Fort Worth Library and the African American Museum of Dallas will present an evening with award‐winning illustrator Jerry Pinkney — Thursday, April 24 at 6 p.m. at the Ella Mae Shamblee Branch Library. A free reception and book signing will follow a discussion with Pinkney about his career, books, and approach to illustration. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
Among the many honors received by Pinkney are the Caldecott Medal, Coretta Scott King Award and the New York Times Best Illustrated Award. “My intent is to lead the viewer into a world that exists only because of that picture,” said Pinkney.
