FREE $5 Credit For Instant Video Rental or Purchase at Amazon (For Wii Owners)

Now through February 28, get a $5 credit towards any Amazon Instant movie or TV series video when you register a Nintendo Wii console with Amazon Instant Video.  We registered our Wii to test this out (it took less than 5 minutes), and we received the $5 credit immediately.  

I love that you can choose to use the credit towards instant movie rentals OR purchases, and it doesn’t have to be used all at once. We perused the selections and found thousands of new releases from family favorites to comedies.  In the $1 to $2 range, we found almost 20,000 videos available to instant rent  (several nights of free entertainment for us!) ~ everything from the latest episodes of Downton Abbey to fun family movies like Rio. 

      

Here’s the scoop on how to get your $5 credit:

  1. Register a Nintendo Wii console with Amazon Instant Video for the first time before February 28, 2013.  Go here to register yours.
  2. A credit for $5 will be automatically applied to your account after successful registration.
  3. Use the $5 credit for your purchase or rental of eligible movies or TV episodes. This credit will expire on June 30, 2013.

Here’s a great deal if that pesky time-to-change-your-water-filter light is blinking on your refrigerator (or about to be)…

Once again, it is way past time for us to replace the water filters on our refrigerator, so it was nice to discover that through January 31, Amazon is giving an extra 20% OFF refrigerator filter replacements for select Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Kenmore,  Maytag, and Amana refrigerators.  That savings is on top of the current discounted price you’ll see from Amazon, bringing some of the filters to 50% OFF the retail price you would normally pay.

For my purchase, that meant I received from Amazon, 2 Water Filters for more than 50% off the price of the same filters we previously purchased from Sears.

Buying Tip: Do note, that you won’t see the extra 20% discount subtracted from the selling price until you get to the final “Review Your Order”/Order Summary confirmation page (which is the last page you’ll see after you input your shipping and credit card details) ~ right before you actually approve the order to be placed.  It will look something like this (click picture to make it bigger):

Komen for the Cure, breast cancer survivors will be treated to a Pink Ribbon Rodeo reception with refreshments and more, January 29th from noon – 7pm. Survivors will also receive a free ticket to the Fort Worth Stock Show’s 7:30pm rodeo performance.  Register to attend and learn more here. 

P.S.  Next Tuesday, January 29th,  is a great day to attend the Stock Show and Rodeo as 50% of all admission and rodeo ticket sales from the day’s events will also be donated to this worthy cause.

40% OFF TurboTax Deluxe ($29.99 For a Limited Time)

Amazon has a really great offer on TurboTax this week ~ $29.99 for TurboTax Deluxe Federal + E-File 2012 download for PC or Mac.  If you plan to use this do-it-yourself tax software this year, you might not want to wait on this one, as the price will unlikely stay this low for very long (historically, the price has continued to rise as Tax day approaches, and we expect this year to be no different).  Here’s the scoop…

For a limited time, Amazon is offering TurboTax Deluxe download for PC or Mac for $29.99  (40% OFF, MSRP $49.99) ~ a hot price that we don’t expect to last very long ~ it’s even cheaper than Costco Warehouse!  We did a price comparison with some of our favorite discounters and found this price to be $10 cheaper across the board (e.g. Costco is selling the same software in a boxed version at a discounted box price of $39.99). We haven’t found anyone who has beat the Amazon price yet.
