Every summer, Ballet Concerto hosts its SUMMER DANCE CONCERT, performed outdoors in the heart of the Fort Worth Cultural District. Recognized by Fort Worth Weekly as Fort Worth’s “Best Outdoor Cultural Event,” the performance features many internationally acclaimed dancers and choreographers. During the performance, concession stands will be available or feel free to take your own picnic and snacks.  You will also want to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the outdoor entertainment in comfort.

Robert Haddock from Random House will buzz about forthcoming books and give readers the inside scoop on spring and summer titles. - 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, Central, Tandy Lecture Hall

As part of Cliburn’s International Competition and Festival series, the Fort Worth Central Library will host a FREE performance from 24 of the world’s best 13 to 17-year-old pianists. The concert will take place in the Gallery of the Fort Worth Central Library (500 W. 3rd Street) Thursday, June 25 at 12:30 pm.  Families with children are encouraged to attend. Bring a sack lunch (cookies and water provided).

FREE Outdoor Family Movie Series at Fort Worth Sundance Square Plaza — Starts Wednesday

Sundance Square Plaza Wednesday movies

The annual Sundance Square FREE outdoor movie series, Movie Nights at Sundance Square Plaza, kicks off next Wednesday with the movie 101 DalmatiansEach Wednesday evening through August 12, the lovely new Sundance Square Plaza will convert to an outdoor movie theater and will feature classic box-office family hits on a giant outdoor screen.  Movies will start at dusk, around 8:45/9:00 PM.

Weekly Movie Night Schedule:

  • June 10:  101 Dalmatians
  • June 17:  Dolphin Tale
  • June 24:  The Lego Movie  Come early! Legoland Discovery Center will be in attendance from 5-9PM — meet a Master Builder and see a great Lego display.
  • July 1:  Muppets: Most Wanted
  • July 8: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
  • July 15:  Despicable Me 2
  • July 22:  Frozen
  • July 29:  The Little Rascals
  • August 5:  Tangled

Insider tips:  Bring your own lawn chairs or blanket to be sure you have a comfy spot to sit.  “To-go” food items from the Sundance Square restaurants may be brought to the plaza, but Sundance Square kindly requests that you do not bring other outside food, drinks or coolers.  Please also leave your pets in the comfort and safety of your home.

The second annual Keller Summer Nights is back and better than ever! Enjoy an evening of free live music and family movies under the stars at Keller Town Hall, each Thursday evening in June. The event also features a variety of family activities and munchies available from food trucks.  Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, a picnic and the whole household (including fido if you like!).
